On July 22nd 2011, 720 Music,Clothing & Cafe (Pittsburgh) launched their “Instant Vintage” section of the Store. I have had a long interest in used and vintage clothing. Whether purchasing for me to wear or with the intention to sell pieces i liked, but didn’t fit me. Years of diggin for records means years of diggin for clothes. I am extremely happy to finally start to move some of this stuff that has been laying around for years. I’m proud to have my items among the fine selections that co-owners Jovon Higgins and Paul Dang have put together with this collection for men and women.

When I arrived to the launch i had no intentions of spinning, but a good vibe was in the air and Nate da phat barber started playing host instead of dj about 20 minutes after the fashion show part was over. I saw my in, jumped behind the booth and threw on some songs using Selecta’s Computer/harddrive that was currently hooked up. Yes, using serato in a vinyl store. Blasphemous yet effective. I flew blind playing things i never heard of ….mixed with some things I’ve heard about …mixed with some stuff i already play. I remember liking the results and having that ever to common feeling of “I wish i would have recorded that”. Well, a couple weeks later I did the next best thing and just recreated the mix based on Serato’s history tab which records the data of what songs you play on any given date. Same Songs, Same Order - Just a straight ahead laidback stand around and talk while free box wine and coffee are gettin drank set. The pictures on the cover are from that same hot summer night. Enjoy the music as it happened on that hot summer evening. Pass it on. and come try on some clothes.
